Vandals of the Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC, power infrastructure has been apprehended in Adamawa state.
The suspects were nabbed by a vigilante group in Sebore Guga, along Jada road.
The suspects are also set to be charged to court in renewed efforts by the Distribution Company to curb the menace of its asset vandalism across its catchment area.
In a statement by YEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Oladimeji Adebola, listed the three apprehended suspects, Emmanuel Kefas, 45-year-old, Jonah Linus, 39-year-old and 38-year-old Mustapha Aliyu.
He also said one other suspect, Biri Modibbo who is currently at large is being trailed by security operatives.
Adebola, emphasized the severe repercussions of electricity infrastructure vandalism, stating that it not only jeopardizes a reliable power supply but also poses a significant risk to the lives of those engaged in such criminal activities.
He further reiterated the company’s commitment to taking decisive action against anyone involved in such acts to ensure the safety and security of power supply to the communities it serves.
