The Taraba State Commissioner of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Habu James Phillip, has strongly condemned the Monday attack on travellers along the Wukari-Tsokundu road by alleged Tiv militia, calling it reprehensible and criminal.
Habu James Phillip, also a prominent Tiv political leader in Taraba State, denounced the attack on innocent travellers, which resulted in three deaths, including that of a woman, and left two others seriously injured. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Federal University of Wukari Teaching Hospital.
Expressing his outrage, Phillip labeled the perpetrators as criminals and agents of destabilization, emphasizing their disregard for the welfare of the region.
He urged leaders in the area to cooperate with security agencies to apprehend the culprits for prosecution.
Phillip commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his commitment to fostering unity among the various ethnic groups in the state.
He urged all stakeholders to support the governor’s efforts in maintaining peace and driving development initiatives across Taraba State.
Phillip further appealed to all ethnic groups in the state to prioritize peace and coexistence, acknowledging Governor Kefas’ inclusive governance approach and equitable distribution of projects and appointments as efforts towards unity.
