The President of Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, NAOWA Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja has assured members of the association and Nigerians that the association will soon commission key projects, which include a modernized National Secretariat, a remodeled NAOWA Events Centre, NAOWA Guest House, and a Recreational Park. She described the projects as a testament to the collective efforts in creating lasting and meaningful impact within the communities.
Mrs. Lagbaja revealed this during commemoration of her one-year anniversary as the 23rd President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) as she launched “Next Level Transformation Initiative project for all NAOWA members.
She said, “This initiative aims to further empower and uplift our members, providing new opportunities for personal and professional growth. It is also a demonstration of my commitment to the continuous improvement of our Association and the betterment of our community”.
She said, “Today’s celebration is not just a reflection of our achievements or Journey so far but also a platform to inspire us to greater heights. Together, we shall continue to build on this foundation, driven by our shared vision of unity, service, and empowerment, in line with my vision. As you all celebrate with me, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your dedication and to bring forward innovative ideas that will further improve our noble Association.”
However, Mrs. Lagbaja charged members of the association to cooperate and noted that their contributions are crucial to elevate NAOWA to new levels of excellence in the years to come. She extended appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering support and encouragement to NAOWA and the Nigerian Army at large. She said “Her Excellency’s commitment to the well-being of our military families, and indeed the well-being of all women and children across the nation has been a source of inspiration to us all.” Also expressed gratitude to the former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen for her support and remarkable dedication to the advancement of women and families in Nigeria.
She expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja for his support and encouragement at all times.
