The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has ordered all Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders to deploy adequate personnel and resources throughout the length and breadth of the country including recreational and picnic centers to protect fun seekers who are out for the festive celebrations. He gave the instruction while having a meeting with Tactical Commanders, including Commanders of the Police Mobile Force, Border Patrol Force, Safer Highway and others at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall and re-echoed same instruction at a similar meeting with the intelligence units of the Force.
However, Force Public Relation Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has revealed that Police would be having its Christmas Carol and Service of 9 Lessons on Friday 22nd December 2023 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.
He said, the carol will have in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life including the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen George Akume; Senate President, HE Senator Godswill Akpabio; Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam; Chairman Police Service Commission, Dr Solomon Arase; Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, amongst others.
He said Inspector General of Police Egbetokun on behalf of the Police Force, wishes Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in advance.
